Public bodies should carry out career guidance among the youth
This was reported in Astana City Forum titled "Co-operative training is the basis of sustainable economic development of the capital" by the head of the capital's Department of Education Asima Bimendina.
"In Astana colleges there are more than 29 thousand students getting educated. Employment in technical disciplines is almost 100%. At present few applicants choose technical professions. For this reason the state bodies should conduct occupational guidance", she said.
In order to identify specialties popular among the Kazakh youth the Ministry of Education and Science is studying the labor market. Based on these studies our colleges will know how many new businesses will open in Astana, as well as how many and what specialties they need. For this reason they provide knowledge on required occupations. Educational government order is aimed at technical skills. In 2013 the government order increased by 6%.
"At today's meeting we have planned to sign memorandums of more than 200 and 300 agreements. They will be directed for the young people to get on-job training and their further employment in the enterprises of Astana" , added A.Bimendina.
