Quake recorded 77 km away from Almaty

According to the National Institute of Geophysical Research, the tremors were recorded at 04:15 pm on January 11, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“A seismic event occurred at 04:15 pm Astana time on January 11. The quake was centered about 77 km northeast of Almaty,” the institute's message reads.

The coordinates of the epicenter were 43.59° north latitude, and 77.80° east longitude. Mb magnitude is 3.8, and energy class is 8.8.

As reported earlier, the quake was recorded in Kyrgyzstan's Jalal Abad region.
