Rabbit meat popular among Astana residents (PHOTO)

KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM - Last year a farm located 10 km from Astana delivered more than 4 million tons of rabbit meat to the markets of Astana, this has been said by the head of "Astana-MIAKRO" company Altynbek Nurkezhanov during Astana Mayor's visit to Akmola region.

The venture for the production of rabbit meat was established in 2012. The farm initially purchased 70 female and 10 male rabbits from Novosibirsk (Russia). Rabbits were of Soviet Chinchilla, Silver, and White Giant breeds. At the present time the number of rabbits in the farm has reached 1239. According to A. Nurkezhanov rabbit meat is in high demand in the capital. This year the company plans to increase the number of rabbits.
