Radiation levels slightly rise around Japan's Fukushima reactor No.3 - govt.
TOKYO. March 14. KAZINFORM Radiation levels around the Fukushima nuclear power plant's reactor No. 3 hit by a hydrogen explosion on Monday have slightly risen, Japanese government officials said; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
"The radiation background has increased insignificantly," an economics ministry official said.
Three people who worked to cool the reactor were injured, seven are missing, Tokyo Electric Company reported.
The reactor was not damaged by the blast, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said earlier on Monday.
A similar explosion rocked the nuclear power plant's reactor No. 1 on Saturday. Radiation levels were also insignificantly higher than normal.
Some 10,000 people are feared to have been killed by a powerful earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on Friday; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
