Realization of Path to Europe Program to raise Kazakhstan-EU goods turnover - Ambassador Turisbekov

sp;MOSCOW.  December 4. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Implementation of Path to Europe Program will allow increasing Kazakhstan-Europe goods turnover. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Zautbek Turisbekov said it at a meeting with Swedish Ambassador to Russia Tomas Bertelman Thursday in Moscow.

Spain's Ambassador to Russsia Juan Antonio Mark and Head of the EC Office to RF Fernando M. Valenzela took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed the situation in Afghanistan, the relations of the EU with the CA countries, Kazakhstan's 2010 OSCE chairmanship and realization of Path to Europe state program.

In the course of the meeting Z. Turisbekov drew the participants' attention to allocation of the EU grant for solution of the problem of illegal migration and drug-trafficking in our country.  He also noted that realization of Path to Europe program would let Kazakhstan implement up-to-date European experience and technologies in various spheres.

The Kazakh Ambassador informed T. Bertelman of the Kazakhstan-Russia-Belarus Agreement on Customs Union creation which had been signed recently. A unified economic space with the population of more than 170 mln people and total volume of industrial production to the sum of USD 600 bln will be established as a result, Turisbekov said. The Customs Union is supposed to ensure 15% GDP growth in member countries.

The meeting participants highly appraised creation of the Customs Union and supposed that its stable and consistent development would improve investment climate and raise inflow of European investments to the member countries.
