According to Bangkok Post online, the police seized drugs worthmore than 500 million baht (about 14.99 million U.S. dollars), including 1.98 million speed pills, 2 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 3.5 kg of heroin. Authorities said it was the biggest drug bust ever in Bangkok involving multiple drugs and narcotics.

The two men, believed to have link to the most-wanted drug kingpin Wei Sia Kang's network, were arrested Tuesday at the Fashion Island, a shopping mall in Bangkok.

The gang they belonged to had kept the drugs at a townhouse in Bang Khen district before delivering them to customers through distributors, an investigation found. It is understood there were four or five more members of the gang.

The drugs had been smuggled from the Myanmar border. The gang had hidden the drugs in fruit containers, said Pol Lt-Gen Atithep Panjamanond, Narcotics Suppression Bureau's deputy chief, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
