Reduction of prices for food products discussed in Kazakh Government
Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Akylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Competition Protection Mazhit Yessenbayev and Deputy Akim of Astana Kanat Sultanbekov made reports on the measures taken in this direction.
The Ministry of Agriculture took operative measures on determination of large suppliers (37 entities) of 9 kinds of imported production (apples, oranges, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, onion and poultry meat). The memorandums on reduction of prices for poultry meat by 10-15% were signed with large importers of main products.
The Agency for Competition Protection together with competent bodies implemented measures on prevention of unfair competition by price formation in the food market. The Agency also submitted system proposals on stabilization of the situation in the horticultural and food markets due to Kazakhstan's joining the Customs Union.
Kazakh Premier charged the Minister of Agriculture and akima of the regions and Astana and Almaty cities to ensure control over the execution of the decisions and report on the situation every week.
