Redundancy of 1 049 people expected: Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection

Heads of ?Nur Otan? National Democratic Party?s faction in the Majilis, members of the Social Council of the ?Nur Otan? Party and other deputies of the Parliament, reps of state bodies, international and non-governmental organizations take part in the session. Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection Serik Abdenov, reported that 580 thousand people from the total number of occupied population - 8.4 mln people ? were unemployed at the beginning of the year. According to him, 9 426 people were employed, 711 people were ocupied with social work, 11 450 people took part in public activities in January, 2009. 400 enterprises turned to part - time imployment. ?Redundancy of 1 049 people is expected in the nearest time. We get data two months earlier in order to take measures. Memos were signed with 4 092 enterprises which guarantee work places for 700 thousand people. However, the monitoring shows that 66 enterprises use underemployment and 7 enterprises had to reduce staff. This is due to objective reasons?, the Vice Minister said.
