Rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities opens doors in Kazakhstan

The Kamkorlyk rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities opened its doors in the village of Kaplanbek, Saryagash district, Turkistan region, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Healthcare Ministry’s press service.

Four regional rehabilitation centres and two Kamkorlyk rehabilitation centre were unveiled in Turkistan region. There are 10,576 children with disabilities, 6,000 of them diagnosed with nervous disorders across the region. This year 13,252 kids underwent treatment.

The new centre will treat children from Saryagash, Zhetysai, Maktaaral, Kazygurt and Keles districts.

According to chairman of the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Public Fund Bolat Zhamishev said, 18 charitable projects are being implemented in Turkistan region. The early intervention centre was initiated by the First President’s Fund Kamkorlyk. Babies aged 2 months old – 4 years old undergo a month-long rehabilitation. Another Kamkorlyk early intervention centre will open in Saryagash Central District Hospital. The project partners are the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Public Fund and Samruk Kazyna Trust. Equipment, furniture, and necessary appliances worth 124.6 million tenge were purchased for the centre.

1,760 children are expected to undergo treatment in the centre each year.
