The meeting discussed status of religious freedom in Kazakhstan. Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov and Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs Marat Azilkhanov told about the religious situation in the republic and its compliance with the international obligations undertaken by our country in the field of human rights and democracy. It should be noted that the new legislation of Kazakhstan was adopted in 2011 and aimed at ensuring continued implementation of the constitutional principles of religious freedom as well as improving and adapting to the changing situation in the country.
