Republic Day of Kazakhstan celebrated in San Francisco
In honor of the celebration of the Republic Day of Kazakhstan the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in San Francisco, with the support of the Mayor’s office of San Francisco, held a ceremony of raising of the National Flag of Kazakhstan over the City Hall, the main municipal building of the city of San Francisco, California, Kazinform News Agency reports via the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Flag of Kazakhstan flew over San Francisco's main municipal building throughout the day on October 25th. Those attending the flag-raising ceremony were the compatriots living in San Francisco, as well as officials from the city of San Francisco and the state of California.
The American participants of the event congratulated Kazakhstan on the main holiday of our country, and also expressed hope for strengthening friendly bilateral relations and wished further prosperity to the Republic.
Consul General Maksat Ibraev, speaking to the participants of the event, noted the dynamic development of relations between Kazakhstan and the United States, congratulated all those present on the holiday, and expressed gratitude to the authorities of the state of California and the city of San Francisco for their fruitful partnership.
In the evening of the same day, in honor of the celebration of Republic Day, the Consulate General organized a screening of the film “Mukagali”, by the famous Kazakh film director Bolat Kalymbetov. The film “Mukagali”, which tells the story of a tragic life of the great Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev, won the main prize at the Dubai Film Festival and five awards in Scotland.
