President of Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso departs Astana, flies to Almaty as part of 2-day official visit to Kazakhstan
Head of State of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally saw off President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso at the airport in Astana, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso is heading to the southern city of Kazakhstan, Almaty, as part of his two-day official visit to the Central Asian country.
To note, President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso is paying official visit to Kazakhstan from August 2 to 3 at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The former was welcomed in a grand ceremony at the Presidential Palace Akorda in the Kazakh capital of Astana.
During the meeting, Kazakh leader Tokayev stated his intention to appoint a Kazakhstani ambassador to the Republic of Congo.
For his part, President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso said that Kazakhstan is the most important country in the Central Asian region.
The two countries seek cooperation in the area of defense, exploration and development of rare metal deposits, as well as adopt measures to boost mutual trade.
Besides, the energy ministries of the two countries concluded deals on mutual investments.
Earlier it was reported that a number of documents were signed as part of the official visit of President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso to Kazakhstan.
