Republic of Korea and CA countries reached significant results in relations - forum

TASHKENT. November 15. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Over the two last decades the relations between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian states have reached significant results. First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Suk-hwan has announced at the V Cooperation Forum "The Republic of Korea-Central Asia".

As he noted, South Korea and Central Asia developed an active exchange and cooperation via the Silk Road.

"The countries of Central Asia during the last three years which run on he background of the global financial economic crisis demonstrate steady resource potential as ell as striving and will of the people. Central Asia has unique potential for development. And this reflects that attention which is paid to development of relations of the Central Asian states with the Korean Government. Over the period of 1992-2010 the trade turnover between the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia increased by 180 times and made USD 2.7 bln. The number of the Central Asian residents who visited Korea increased by 400 times and made 32 thousand people," the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
