Rescuers from Azerbaijan arrive in Aktau
Earlier, a team of highly qualified specialists from major medical centers left for Aktau from Astana. Among them are resuscitators, traumatologists, surgeons, combustiologists and other specialists, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry.
The Ministry provides necessary assistance to the forensics and investigative team at the accident site, said Emergency Situations Minister General Major Chingis Arinov.
To note, canine crews are engaged in search operations. Rescuers are working around the clock, using special equipment.
The Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which was operating a flight en route Baku-Grozny, crashed Wednesday morning near Kazakhstan's Aktau city.
The government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev began its work at the crash site of the plane.
Upon Kazakh President Tokayev’s instruction, an ambulance aircraft left Astana headed to Aktau.
It was reported that President Tokayev tasked to set up a state commission in connection with the plane crash.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev following the incident.
It was previously informed Kazakh Emergency Situations Minister Chingis Arinov arrived in Aktau.
Earlier it was reported that all six Kazakhstani nationals, who were onboard of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, died.
