The skies over Riyadh lit up with fireworks December 11 in celebration of Saudi Arabia's successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup™, Saudi Press Agency reports.

This achievement marks a significant milestone and a new national accomplishment for the Riyadh region. It supports the Kingdom’s national football strategy while affirming Riyadh’s status as a global capital capable of hosting major events that enhance quality of life and foster national pride.

The celebrations included a variety of events held at multiple venues, including the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), Riyadh Boulevard, the historic Al-Bujairi district in Diriyah, the Green Halls at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex, ROSHN Front, and Laysen Valley.

These festivities signify a new chapter for Riyadh as it celebrates its sporting and cultural achievements. The events underscore the capital’s position as a premier destination for historic moments and its pivotal role in helping Saudi Arabia achieve its global leadership aspirations.

Earlier, FIFA announced during its online format Congress Conference that the 2034 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by Saudi Arabia.
