RK Ambassador to Japan visits Sapporo

ASTANA. March 19. KAZINFORM Non March 12-13 Kazakhstan Ambassador to Japan Akylbek Kamaldinov paid a working visit to the city of Sapporo, administrative and business centre of the northern part of Japan – the island of Hokkaido, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

At a meeting with Mayor of the city Fumio Ueda the parties focused on the state and prospects of bilateral relations ,including cultural-humanitarian field. The Ambassador also met with Chairman of the Hokkaido Commerce and Industry Chamber Iwao Takamuki and Chairman of the Hokkaido Economic Federation (Dokeiren) T. Kondo to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the field of processing of agricultural products. Issues of cooperation in energy, in particular in transfer of energy saving technologies, within the Kyoto Protocol as well, were discussed at the meeting with the heads of ?Hokkaido Electric Power? company which operates in Kazakhstan in uranium production sphere. Within the working trip A. Kamaldinov took part in the seminar with the participation of government officials, reps of business community, scientific and cultural spheres and leading mass media of Hokkaido where he acquainted the attendees with the main provisions of the Kazakh President?s Message ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity?. The parties reached an agreement on arrangement of a visit of the Hokkaido delegation to Kazakhstan this summer to explore opportunities to establish business ties in trade-economic, agricultural, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
