RK Security Council Secretary meets NATO Special Envoy

ASTANA. March 18. KAZINFORM President?s Aide – Secretary of the Security Council Kairbek Suleimenov has had a meeting with Special Envoy of the NATO Secretary General For the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons in Akorda Palace today.

The parties noted the importance of implementation of cooperation programs including the Kazakhstan-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan. K. Suleimenov and R. Simmons confirmed their intention to support an active dialogue and highlighted the necessity of enhancing bilateral interaction in ensuring regional security including the situation in Afghanistan. Issues of preparation for the Security Forum of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council scheduled for June in Astana were discussed as well.
