Road reconstruction projects discussed in Shymkent

SHYMKENT. March 18. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ First Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev has held a session in Shymkent today.

Breakthrough projects which are underway in South Kazakhstan region can resolve many social problems. In this regard, reconstruction of ?West Europe ? West China? transit highway is going to be contracted from the second half of 2009. 458 kilometers of the ?Kyzylorda region ? Turkestan ? Shymkent? highway will pass through the territory of South Kazakhstan region. 6 major contractors are expected to participate in this work. Shukeyev suggested involving local manpower and domestic construction materials. The construction of the highway is scheduled for early next year. ?It is an important project that will change the situation and life quality in the region?, Umirzak Shukeyev said.
