Romania the main partner of Kazakhstan in Eastern Europe and the Balkans

This information has been voiced today in Astana at the tenth meeting of the Kazakh-Romanian business forum by Vice Minister of Oil and Gas Mazgum Mirzagaliev.

"Our bilateral relations with Romania are developing rapidly in all directions. However, there are still problems in expanding bilateral trade. I am sure such business forums make their contribution into the development of bilateral trade", said the deputy minister.

However, he noted in his speech that Kazakhstan is considering Romania as a key partner in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. According to him, the two countries established rapport at all levels. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 20 years ago political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Romania have strengthened.

"The basis for trade and economic relations of Kazakhstan and Romania are considered energy, machine building, metallurgy, road transport logistics and light industry. In Romania there are 13 Kazakh-Romanian companies in sectors such as trade, furniture, clothing and medicine. However, in Kazakhstan there have been registered 32 joint ventures, mainly operating in the oil and gas spheres.
