Roscosmos recommends to enroll Kazakhstan's Aimakhanov on Russian cosmonauts corps

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Head of the Russian Federal Space Agency Oleg Ostapenko held on Wednesday a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on selection of cosmonauts, Roscosmos press service said.

Application of Mukhtar Aimakhanov on enrolling him on the Roscosmos cosmonauts group and assignment of the main and backup crews of the ISS Expeditions 43/44 and 47/48 were on the agenda.

Following the results of the medical evaluation board and the commission it was recommended to enroll Aimakhanov on the cosmonauts corps. As earlier reported, he acquired nationality of the Russian Federation at the end of 2012 to join the Russian team and make his dream come true.
