Running failures at Ridder and Temirtau TPPs are technological disturbances, Energy Minister

Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev described recent running failures at the thermal power stations in Ridder, Temirau and Ekibastuz towns as technological disturbances. According to the technological disturbances classification, none of the said faulty operations can be qualified as an accident, Kazinform News Agency reports.

He said process upsets were recorded at several energy sources and heating networks as chilly weather set to batter Kazakhstan since last week.

Temperature conditions have already been restored at the thermal power stations.

He said technological disturbances at the heating networks in Stepnogorsk, Balkhash, Aktau and Kokshetau were eliminated within the set time limit.

Maximum electric energy consumption is estimated to reach 17,000 MW next January against its generation of 16,500 MW.
