Russia, Kazakhstan to mark vast shared border
MOSCOW. April 30. KAZINFORM Russia and Kazakhstan will begin work on May 18 to place markers on the 7,500-km (4,660-mile) border between the countries, Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The work follows from a January 2005 agreement signed by Russia's then-President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev approving an official map of the border.
Russia and Kazakhstan is one of the longest land borders in the world. The countries have been working for the past seven years to clarify disputed areas of the border, which was open during Soviet times, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru for full version.
