Russia ratifies Agreement on CSTO peacekeeping activity
MOSCOW. January 7. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed Law ?On ratification of the Agreement on peaceful activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)? on January 6; Kazinform reports.
According to the Kremlin?s press service, the Agreement regulates issues regarding the CSTO participation in the peacekeeping activity on the world and regional levels and creation of peacekeeping forces on a permanent basis.
The peacekeeping forces will be trained by an integrated program and equipped by the same models of arming and telecommunications, will take part in regular joint exercises.
Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are the CSTO member-states.
