Russia's Pavel Astakhov intends collaboration with Kazakhstan's Ombudsman Office

ASTANA. July 17. KAZINFORM - Today there has been held a meeting of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov with Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Children's Rights Pavel Astakhov, says the press service of the National Centre for Human Rights.

During the talks, Pavel Astakhov has expressed the intention of cooperation with the Office of the Ombudsman in the Republic of Kazakhstan in protection of children's rights. The two sides exchanged views on the key areas for further mutual activities of offices of Commissioners in two countries, which have affected aspects of enforcing judgments concerning children from mixed families, tracing child support debtors and other topics of consideration in the interests of the rights of a child.

The participants were briefed on the measures taken by the Ombudsman in Kazakhstan and monitoring activities for prevention of various forms of encroachment on the rights of a child, as well as cooperation with international human rights organizations in this area.

The sides agreed on the need for bilateral cooperation and constructive platform for future joint activity.
