Russia to help Kyrgyzstan fight drug-trafficking
BISHKEK. March 17. KAZINFORM Russia would provide 6 million U.S. dollars over three years to help Kyrgyzstan fight drug-trafficking, a Kyrgyz drug control official said Thursday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"Russia is concerned with forming an anti-drug belt across Kyrgyzstan and strengthening drug control services," State Drug Control Service (GSKN) chief Vitaly Orosaliyev said.
"We have signed a protocol to provide financial and material assistance. Today, the question is providing the service with material and technical resources," he said.
Orosaliyev said part of the money would be spent on financial incentives of workers for real results.
"Cooperation between services of both countries have reached a high level. We are planning to improve interregional cooperation involving Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan," Orosaliyev said. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version
