Russia, U.S. agree to share data on Japan
MOSCOW. March 18. KAZINFORM Russia and the United States agreed on Friday to share information on developments at Japan's troubled Fukushima nuclear plant, Russian state-controlled nuclear corporation Rosatom said. Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The agreement was made during a telephone conversation between Rosatom head Sergei Kiriyenko and U.S. Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman.
"The parties agreed to share information and hold consultations between Russian and U.S. specialists on the development of the situation at Fukushima," Rosatom spokesman Sergei Novikov said.
Earlier on Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan promised to provide more detailed information to the international community on the unfolding crisis at the plant. Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru for full version
