Russian FM to discuss Customs Union during Ukraine visit

KIEV. January 3. KAZINFORM Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said Thursday that his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov will visit Ukraine on Jan. 13-14 to discuss Kiev's participation in the Customs Union with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, according to Xinhua.

"I think that the issue of the ways, in which Ukraine could cooperate with the Customs Union without acquiring its membership, will be high on agenda within the next few months," Kozhara said.

Kozhara said Ukraine and Russia are set to intensify their negotiations in the coming months on Ukraine's participation in the Customs Union.
