Russian hydroplane, emergency landed in the Caspian Sea, ready for transportation
"At the moment the hydroplane is hulling in the Caspian Sea. Its coordinates are known. On Tuesday one of our helicopters MI-8 will fly to the sea. We plant to airlift it to the city of Atyrau", said the head of the fly group "Beybarys" airline Tuleuhan Abdrasilov. As Kazinform has previously reported, the Russian built Amphibian airplane LA-8 made an emergency landing 145 kilometers away from Fort-Shevchenko on the border of Atyrau and Mangystau regions in the Caspian Sea. The plane was flying from Russian city of Samara to Iran. For some reason during the flight over the sea two engines failed. To rescue the pilots "Egemen" patrol ship was sent from Aktau and Mi-8 helicopter took off from Atyrau with three rescuers and two crew members on board. In addition "Agip KCO" company sent "Augusta 906" rescue helicopter with 2 rescuers and two pilots on board. Two pilots of the plane were saved.
