Russian-Kazakh cooperation in education and science discussed in Astana

ASTANA. February 17. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ 1600 Kazakhstanies study in 34 educational establishments of Omsk. It forms 90 percent of all foreign students. There function 18 schools, where the Kazakh language and literature are taught. It have been announced in the roundtable ?The Russian-Kazakh cooperation in education and science? in the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University; Kazinform refers to the university?s web-representation.

Deputy Minister of Education of Omsk oblast Igor Shchetkin, representatives of universities and trade-industrial chamber of the region took part in the event. Within the meeting issues of cooperation in implementation of joint educational projects, reforms of the Kazakh higher education, experience of introduction of the credit system in the Eurasian National University and etc were discussed. Besides, the Russian side asked for a help in ensuring textbooks for the Kazakh schools. The roundtable was held in the framework of the VI Kazakh exhibition ?Education and science of XXI century?, which will be carried out in Astana on February 18-20.
