Russians recognize Kazakhstan as most reliable partner in CIS

ST.PETERSBURG. December 14. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ Russians recognize Kazakhstan as the most reliable partner in the CIS (37%). The leader of the last year Belarus takes the second place now (23%). These are results of a pole held by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center defining which of the CIS states Russians recognize as the most reliable partners.

According to the poll, Kazakhstan is the most stable and successful state in the CIS space (34%). Belarus which is the leader of the last year takes the second place (31%). Ukraine that strengthened its positions in the ranking during the whole period from 5 to 19% is on the third place. It is followed by Armenia (9%), Azerbaijan (6%), Moldova and Turkmenistan (by 5%), Uzbekistan and Georgia (by 3%). Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are the less stable states and have 2% and 1% respectively.

Russians also recognize Kazakhstan as the most reliable partner in the CIS space (37%), moreover, the number of such respondents increased from 31% in 2009. the leader of the last year Belarus was mentioned mush less (23% compared to 43% in 2009). Ukraine, on the contrary, climbed in this ranking to the third place (from 4 to 21%).

Taking into account the rating of the most reliable partners of Russia, the rating of the CIS most trusted leaders looks natural. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev leads the rating with 32%. Ukrainian President V.Yanikovich takes the second place (17%) essentially increasing the last year rate. The position of the Belarusian Leader A.Lukashenko reduced from 33 to 16%.

Regarding the CIS states where the political, social, civil and other rights of Russian-speaking population are provided to a greater extent the Russians give priority to Belarus (27%), Kazakhstan (21%) and Ukraine (17%).
