S Arabia to build 1GW wind farm in Kazakhstan

Development of Kazakhstan-Saudi Arabia joint investment projects was discussed at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, Kazinform Agency quotes the primeminister.kz

In particular, those attending debated the project for the construction of 1GW wind farm in Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu region. Preparation works are underway. Start of the construction is set for 2025. The Prime Minister assigned to speed up administrative procedures and tackle issues.

Besides, the meeting focused on the development of new projects in the spheres of agricultural, pharmaceuticals, metallurgic industries, etc.

Following the meeting Alikhan Smailov stressed the need to ramp up the work with Saudi Arabian investors at all levels.

He tasked to organize a business forum with the participation of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia on the eve of the forthcoming sitting of the intergovernmental commission.
