Sadyr Zhaparov holds talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of an official visit to Japan, held negotiations in Tokyo with Prime Minister of the country Fumio Kishida, Kabar reports.

The state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, including in the “Japan + Central Asia” format, were discussed.

The Japanese prime minister noted that he was glad to meet Sadyr Zhaparov and his visit to the country.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is a friendly partner of Japan and indicated its readiness to intensify cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic in a number of areas.

In addition, Fumio Kishida emphasized the Japanese government’s readiness to expand mutually beneficial partnership with Kyrgyzstan in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

In turn, Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the Japanese side for the warm hospitality, noting that Japan is a friendly and congenial country for Kyrgyzstan.

The head of state emphasized that thanks to the support of Japan, specific projects and programs have been implemented that have made a significant contribution to strengthening the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan.

With particular satisfaction, Sadyr Zhaparov noted the new political document being signed today - the Joint Statement on Friendship and Comprehensive Partnership in a New Era between Kyrgyzstan and Japan. This document marks the beginning of a new era, a new page in the history of friendship and relations between the two states.

Taking this opportunity, Sadyr Zhaparov invited Fumio Kishida to visit Kyrgyzstan at a time convenient for him.

During the negotiations, in order to increase the indicators of trade and economic turnover, it was proposed to consider the creation of a joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In addition, the parties agreed to work out the signing of an Agreement on Mutual Protection of Investments.

The sides expressed confidence that as a result of the visit, cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan will rise to an even higher level.
