Sadyr Zhaparov receives EU High Representative Josep Borrell

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy - Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, who arrived in the country for a visit, Kabar reports.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including prospects for trade and economic cooperation, investments and implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, transport and water resources, digitalization.

The Kyrgyz leader noted that the European Union is one of Kyrgyzstan's reliable partners, supporting the country's sustainable development since independence.

Sadyr Zhaparov invited investors from the European Union to join the large-scale hydropower and transportation projects being implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell noted the fruitful visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the EU headquarters in Brussels this year.

He emphasized that the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement signed during this visit opens new prospects in bilateral relations, especially in trade, economic and investment spheres.

Borrell confirmed the commitment of the European Union to further deepen bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and readiness to implement joint projects in areas of mutual interest.
