Sales turnover between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan reaches $1 bln

BISHKEK. KAZINFORM - Sales turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1 billion in 2013, President of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Marat Sharshekeyev said.

At the Bishkek-hosted conference "Trade cooperation Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan" he stressed that Kazakhstan remains one of the leading commercial and economic partners of Kyrgyzstan. "The Republic of Kazakhstan is one of our largest investors," Mr. Sharshekeyev stated. In 2005, the sales turnover between the two countries made only $296.5 million. Kyrgyzstan exports dairy and meat products, vegetables, agricultural goods, and electric energy to Kazakhstan, whereas Kazakhstan's main exports to Kyrgyzstan are crops, oil products, coal, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Several Kazakhstani banks, mining, construction and other companies function throughout Kyrgyzstan.
