Samruk-Energo JSC long-term development strategy approved

ASTANA. March 4. KAZINFORM - The decision of the Board of Directors of Samruk-Energo JSC on February 27 approved the long-term development strategy for 2012-2022, the press service of the ministry informs.

The new strategy is aimed at improving long-term assets of the company by increasing the efficiency of its activities, participation in the diversification and modernization of the national economy, and strategies to the highest standards of corporate governance and social responsibility.

The strategy defined the following mission: "To maintain the high growth of the economy and improve the living standards of Kazakhstan's population providing reliable and efficient production, supplying electricity and heat as well as coal within the global energy initiatives through sustainable development."

The main strategic directions of the Strategy are as follows:

1. Ensuring energy security of Kazakhstan.
2. Increase in the cost of equity capital.
3. Social responsibility.

The Company's strategy has been developed in accordance with international best practice of strategic documents for the leading holding companies of the electricity sector and that will improve the capabilities of the company when being involved in People's IPO program.
