Samruk-Kazyna considering establishment of subsidiary in Silicon Valley

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - April 9-10 a working group of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund under the chairmanship of the head of the organization Umirzak Shukeyev visited Silicon Valley venture (California, USA), according to the press service of Samruk Kazyna.

The working group acquainted with the work of Stanford University, UC Berkeley, as well as such well-known innovative companies like Tesla Motors, SolarCity and other start-up companies. The sides have discussed the possibility of cooperation in the development of clean energy, gas chemistry, transport, medicine, agriculture, education, and IT. In particular, they considered the possibility of creation of "Samruk Innovation" company in Silicon Valley. During the working visit the delegation informed presented information on the upcoming international specialized exhibition "Astana EXPO-2017", Green Quarter project, and "Kaz PV" project for the production of solar panels. Representatives of Stanford, SolarCity and Motors were invited to Kazakhstan to participate in Astana Economic Forum in May this year and discuss joint projects in preparation for the EXPO-2017.
