SamrukKazyna to allocate KZT 8 bln for research and development activities in 2011

ASTANA. December 5. KAZINFORM Samruk-Kazyna group of companies will allocate KZT 8 bln for research and development activities this year; Deputy Chairman of the Board of SamrukKazyna National Welfare Fund Kuandyk Bishimbayev said at the Innovative Forum; Kazinform has learnt from pm.kz.

"We require the national companies to develop specific projects, specific patents, research works, that will be introduced in the activity of the national companies," he said.

Every company of the group has a research council which is a platform for discussion of all technological innovations implemented and introduced by the national companies.

K.Bishimbayev said that SamrukKazyna signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Nazarbayev University in two directions.

"The first direction is scientific program. We are ready to fund and finance the scientific program of the University both within the Holding and within national companies. The second is the process of specialists' training, i.e. training of students of master's degree and doctor's degree on technical specialties, which are in-demand in the national companies. This is first of all engineers. This program is currently under development," K.Bishimbayev said.
