ASTANA. KAZINFORM "International sanctions against the energy system of Russia will not substantially affect Kazakhstan," Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin told journalists.

"Even if we assume that sanctions against Russia will impact the country's oil sector, first of all it will affect oil exports," he added.

"It can be said that chiefly oil belonging to foreign investors is exported. The greater part of oil produced by Kazakhstani companies is supplied to the country's refineries. More than half is sent to export. The point at issue is foreign investors, including European and those from the US. I do not think the contries will impose sanctions against their companies," he resumed.
