Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz invited for Congress of World and Tradition Religions? Leaders
ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz was extended an invitation to take part in the forthcoming forum of the leaders of the world and traditional religions.
The invitation was presented to Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Saud Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud by Special Envoy of Kazakhstan President, Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament, Member of the Committee for International Relations, Defense and Security Adip Akhmetov who is visiting Saudi Arabia now. The Senator also extended an invitation from Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of the World and Traditional Religions? Leaders, Chairman of the Senate Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki and Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Saleh Al-Asheikh to participate in the forum.
The participants of the meetings held in Jeddah, Mecca and Riyadh spoke about high appreciation of Nazarbayev's initiative to convene the Congress by the Saudi authorities . Astana and Riyadh keep close political dialogue and high dynamics of the economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian ties. They emphasized Kazakhstan?s efforts on development of inter-faith dialogue which fully conforms to the spirit of the initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz regarding promotion of the dialogue among cultures and religions. As is known this idea was realized through holding top-level conferences in Mecca, Madrid and New York in 2008.
Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia will keep to the policy of mutual support and coordination of the efforts on the international arena directed on strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation among nations, cultures and religions.
Senator A. Akhmetov expressed gratitude to the OIC Secretary General for participation in the Forum of the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic and Western countries ?Common world: Progress through Diversity? last October.
