Sazgen Sazy ensemble’s concert gets standing ovation in Brussels

In celebration of the Republic Day of Kazakhstan, the leading folklore and ethnographic ensemble of the country Sazgen Sazy gave a concert in the Flagey Concert Hall in Brussels, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The repertoire of the ensemble turned out to be unique for traditionally European programs of musical events, enabling the public of Belgium to get acquainted with the sound of traditional musical instruments, to listen to Kazakh folk melodies, as well as to enjoy popular European composers’ works performed by the ensemble.
The guests could enjoy well-known folk songs and works by prominent composers such as Kurmangazy and Shamshi Kaldayakov, Vittorio Monti, Astor Piazzola etc.
Those attending the concert were politicians of Belgium, European Union, diplomats, representatives of business, public and cultural organizations, as well compatriots living in Luxembourg.

Welcoming the guests Ambassador of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan briefed about the history of adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1990, historical importance of the Republic Day for the modern and dynamic development of the country and the importance of all-round development of Kazakhstan - European Union relations.
He noted that rich musical heritage of the Kazakh people popularized through the creativity and talent of Sazgen Sazy musicians is an important tool of Kazakhstan’s public diplomacy.
The event ended with a gala reception held for the guests and friends of Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Belgium.
The concert was organized with the support of the Kazakh Embassy in Belgium and Luxembourg and Almaty mayor’s office.
