SCO defense ministers signed 2012-2013 cooperation plan

ASTANA. March 17. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Defense ministers of the SCO member states have signed a joint communiqué and a cooperation plan for 2012-2013 in Astana today.

"We believe that close cooperation and interaction will allow to promote security and stability in the region and in the whole world. These efforts are aimed at strengthening confidence in the issues of security, enhancing our capabilities in the struggle against terrorism", Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhanksybekov said at a briefing upon the results of the sitting.

He thanked his colleagues for the active participation and interesting opinions exchange. The Minister expressed hope that the jubilee summit of the SCO and Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the organization would give more opportunities to develop cooperation between its member states.
