SCO member states will hold anti-terrorist Peace Mission drills in China
The military drills are held as a part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization agreement and the 2014 National Armed Forces training project. The trainings will run from August 24 to 29. Kazakhstan will be represented at the Peace Mission by the Combat Battalion of the Airmobile Forces. In addition, AN 72, SI 295 and SU 27 airplanes of the Kazakhstan Air Forces will be used in the drills.
6,500 soldiers from the Armed Forces of "Peace Mission-2014" and 370 soldiers and 5 Air Force aircraft of Kazakhstan will attend the drills. Today, the training base Zhu-ri-he has held a meeting of operational groups of the Armed Forces of SCO member states. There were also carried out negotiations on the organization and holding of "Peace Mission 2014". All 2200 foreign troops have arrived. The six-day drill will start at the Zhu-ri-he training base next Sunday and will mobilize more than 7,000 soldiers from the five countries. The drill is one of the joint anti-terrorism exercises launched under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework. Uzbekistan is the only SCO member not participating.
