SCO should never stay out of global processes, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

SCO Summit participants are expected to address the world community to begin an honest and open global dialogue, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told in an interview with Xinhua Agency, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The Head of State said the SCO should never stay out of global processes. That’s why, Kazakhstan suggested developing the SCO Initiative On World Unity for Just Peace and Accord. He expressed gratitude to all member states for appreciating and supporting this initiative.

He said the SCO Summit participants are expected to call on the world community to start an honest and open global dialogue, adopt a new security paradigm, create a fair economic environment, and make necessary efforts in the name of protecting the planet. The President added Kazakhstan initiated declaring 2024 the Year of SCO Ecology. International documents in the sphere of ecology, protection of natural sites, ecotourism, and climate change were developed and will be soon adopted. The President also expressed confidence the SCO can respond to environmental problems and climate changes.
