SCO summit in Astana: Azerbaijan President lands in Kazakh capital

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in the Kazakh capital to take part in the 24th meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He was warmly greeted by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan enjoy stable growth of bilateral trade turnover. Following the outcomes of 2023, mutual trade grew by 14.4%, reaching the mark of $529.4 million. The positive trend in mutual trade is expected to persist throughout this year as it amounted to $184.9 million, a 0.5% increase from the previous year.

On top of that, Kazakhstan’s oil is delivered to Europe through the territory of Azerbaijan. A total of 494,000 tons have been pumped during January-April 2024.
