The Head of State said SCO chairmanship is quite an important and responsible mission. Kazakhstan, as one of the SCO founding states and an active supporter of the development of multilateral dialogue, considers the Organization a constant priority in its balanced foreign policy.

The country’s efforts aim to develop common approaches to solving security problems, strengthening trade and economic cooperation, and friendship ties between the two countries. Another highlight is the further strengthening of the SCO's international standing through expanding its ties with large international and regional structures.

The President said over 150 events were conducted worldwide, the list of SCO partners grew, and the SCO contractual legal framework increased.

The country’s SCO chairmanship will culminate in the SCO Summit in Astana which is expected to adopt strategically vital decisions regarding further improvement of the SCO. It will determine the key areas for medium-term cooperation and develop initiatives for adequate and timely response to current challenges and threats.

The Head of State expressed sincere gratitude to all SCO member states for supporting Kazakhstan’s SCO chairmanship initiatives, solidarity, and joint work in the footsteps of current priorities. He said the fundamental principles of the Shanghai spirit such as mutual trust, friendship, mutual benefit, and consideration of interests of each other will be fully embodied in the final decisions of the Summit.
