SCO Supreme Court's presiding judges to hold conference in Kazakhstan in 2014

ASTANA. February 21. KAZINFORM Moscow hosts the VIII conference of the presidents of the supreme courts of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Issues of fight corruption within the court system, consumer protection and drug related crimes are to be considered during the conference, the press service of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan reports.

Head of the Kazakh delegation, Chairman of the Board on the oversight of civil and administrative cases of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Elis Abdykadyrov said that currently there was a need for a more vigorous and effective sub-regional efforts to further expanding and strengthening cooperation in cases involving drug crimes.

He added that drug abuse and drug trafficking exceed the boundaries of one state covering the Central Asian region, taking into account that Kazakhstan has transient position in relation to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China.

The ninth conference of the presiding judges of the Supreme Courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in Kazakhstan in 2014, the press service of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan informed.
