Second round of Iran-US talks begins in Geneva

TEHRAN. KAZINFORM - A new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States began on Monday morning in Geneva.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry, Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Ali-Akbar Salehi, and US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz started their talks at 9:30 local time.Deputies to foreign minister Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi, as well as US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman are scheduled to join the main negotiators.

In the meantime, Iranian, American, and European technical experts are conferring in Geneva.Western observers have evaluated the presence of Salehi and Moniz in the talks as a sign of 'strengthening technical aspects of the talks and a change in the process of negotiations'.Araqchi has said the two sides are seeking new negotiations methods during current round of talks.Iranian and American delegations have been in talks in Geneva since Friday.
