Secretaries of Security Councils of India and Central Asia convene in Kazakh capital

The 2nd meeting of the national security advisors - secretaries of the Security Councils of India and Central Asia convened in the Kazakh capital, Kazinfom Agency reports.

Kazakh Security Council secretary Gizat Nurdauletov read out the Kazakh President’s Address to those present.

The 1st summit of the Heads of State of Central Asia and India prioritized strengthening of regional security. The meeting of the national security advisors - secretaries of the Security Councils contribute to the implementation of this pressing issue. At the SCO Summit Kazakhstan suggested an initiative on World Unity for Just Peace and Accord. The proposed security paradigm is based on the principles of open dialogue between the global south and global north. The President expressed hope the regional cooperation will contrite to the development of the Eurasian cooperation.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the nations face common challenges including international terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and transnational crime which require coordinated efforts.  The said risks are associated mainly with the current military-political and socioeconomic situation in Afghanistan. Food security strengthening could become an important point of application of joint efforts of Central Asian nations and India.
