ASTANA. November 4. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Security Council and CSTO Secretariat have held a roundtable titled "Directions of development of the system of collective security in the light of the urgent problems of counteracting modern challenges and threats in Central Asia" on November 4, 2011.

Kazakh President's Aide - Security Council's Secretary Marat Tazhin outlined conceptual approaches and priority directions of the CSTO activity taking into account transformation of external and internal threats for Central Asia.

CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha told about urgent problems of the regional security and measures necessary for countering new challenges and threats.

Specialists from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, representatives of scientific state, public institutions and independent analytic centers of Kazakhstan took part in it.

Kazakh President's Aide - Security Council's Secretary Marat Tazhin held a meeting with CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha.

They noted progressive character of the strategic interaction of Kazakhstan and CSTO, discussed prospects of improvement of the Organization's activity in ensuring regional security, development of interaction with international organizations in the sphere of countering common challenges and threats of the global world.
