Senate approves amendments to legislation on local public administration and self-administration

ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Senate of Kazakh Parliament adopted the Law ?On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of local public administration and self-administration?, Kazinform correspondent reports.

According to new amendments, the local self-administration will be executed separately within a region, district, city, district of the city, rural district, village or aul which does not enter the rural district. Local self-administration bodies will be the representative bodies ? maslikhats of a region (a city of republican significance and capital) or maslikhats of a district (a city of regional significance), rural district, village or aul, and executive bodies ? akims of a region, city, district of the city, rural district, village which does not enter the rural district. Therefore, maslikhats will become the basis of the local administration in Kazakhstan as the representative bodies elected by local population to solve local problems. Akims will be involved into the system of the local self-administration and along with the functions of public administration will carry out the functions of local self-administration.
